Tired of having to implement deficit-based IEPs, year after year, that have little effect and suck your motivation dry?

If you’ve ever struggled to:

1. Write an effective IEP that fosters positive self-identity and focuses more on the strengths of the student rather than the deficits...

2. Walk confidently into meetings knowing that you have a legally defensible IEP that will best support your students…

3. Figure out how to measure neurodiversity-affirming goals ...

4. Fuel your IEPs with an ND affirming approach…

This will be EYE OPENING!

I WANT IN!

See the IEP Through A Neurodiversity-Affirming Lens

Traditional diagnostics can be important to determine eligibility, but when you use them to drive 100% of the data going into your IEP meeting, you can end up spending all your time focusing on a student's deficits, which leads to an IEP that isn't effective, again and again.

This leads to:

1. Autistic masking and burnout
2. Parents asking why their child continues to struggle, and…
3. You, feeling like you're not providing the right supports and services for your students.

It's a nightmare!

But when you join me for this highly engaging live webinar, I’ll help you start seeing the IEP through ND affirming RayBans so you can positively transform the outcomes of IEPs to better support the students you work with!

I WANT A BETTER IEP, DUDE!

Shift To an Affirming IEP

Once you have a crystal clear picture of the difference between the conventional deficits-based IEP vs. a social model IEP that accepts the neurodiversity of the student body, you’ll be equipped to start shifting over toward an approach that builds lifelong skills to support a positive self-esteem and long-term happiness.

I WANT TO WRITE A BETTER IEP

Support Your Students IRL, IRTS

By understanding the concepts to this approach and using language that embraces the neurodiversity paradigm, you’ll be able to provide support where your autistic students actually need it:

1. In Real Life (IRL)
2. In Real Time Situations (IRTS)

…and you'll be supporting students to develop a positive self-image!

Why?

Because valuing autistic students for who they are and providing them with access and support to succeed is at the very foundation of an ND approach.

And at the end of this webinar, you’re going to become better at identifying critical areas to accomplish this purpose, which supports our students self-esteem, long-term happiness and fulfillment.

*Plus, you'll receive a FREE printable handout to provide for parents at the IEP table to help them understand the key concepts of neurodiversity.

I WANT TO WRITE A BETTER IEP

Meet “Speech Dude”

Hi, I’m Chris Wenger.

I’m a former high school special education teacher turned SLP with over 20 years of IEP experience and special education law. Being neurodivergent myself, I know first-hand what it's like being invalidated and not receiving the supports needed within the educational system.

If there’s one thing I do know though, it’s that accepting student's to be their true authentic selves is the key to building strong relationships and it's what ultimately leads to the biggest impact on their independence, autonomy and long-term happiness.

We absolutely need to first understand the history and language that has led to a deficit-based model, and how we can make a paradigm shift  in the IEP that is based on a social model of disability. This webinar will teach you how to “filter” your understanding through a neurodiversity-affirming lens so you can walk more confidently into your next IEP meeting.

I guarantee, you’ll be better able to support your students after this webinar!

THIS WILL COMPLETELY SHIFT THE WAY YOU WRITE IEPS FOR AUTISTIC STUDENTS

This webinar is actually the first module in a super fun course I've created that will give SLPs the full nuts and bolts for creating an ND affirming approach to developing an effective IEP. This first module is free, and towards the end you'll have an opportunity to grab the course at a pre-sale discount for attending (that's up to you, but either way, the 1st module is still on the house!). This module will give you an idea of the content, energy and language to use to enhance your IEPs.
